Climate Front Telangana , Formerly ( Climate Front Hyderabad ) is a youth led people’s movement that was started in the year of 2020 as Teen Activism – which initially started with the idea of uniting world teenagers and looking at them as stakeholder and change bringers as name itself tells “Teen Activism” . We wanted world teens to do activism and address primarily issues like Human Rights , Feminism & Environment .
As we a group of young people started working as Teen Activism , begun talking about Feminism & Human Rights in our capacities we in process collectively came to a realisation & later to a ideological understanding that “Climate Crisis is the Biggest Injustice that ( is going ) Oppress the World Oppressed Most” .
In 2022 Teen Activism Became Climate Front Hyderabad It is Important that we share publicly why did Teen Activism Transition into Climate Front ‘s Local Chapter , Although we had a choice to run independently or join some other national movement. But We took the Decision of Becoming Part Climate Front As we have been seeing the work that Climate Front was able to do through CFJ , CFK & CFI at the times when there was state repression at peaks on Climate Activists in India. CF Still Continued to stand firm fearless and continued to move forward addressing the issues . We were Inspired By CFJ & CFI ‘s work we wanted to be part of the effort they were making but apart from this we also strongly related with two major aspects that the Climate Front as a national movement has a) The spirit of struggle that it carries, the way how climate front used to communicate an issue to the larger public , Fearless Communication. b) The idea of together , we are in this together and we are there for each other when we looked inside at the CF’s Community they were calling themselves as a Family and genuinely there a sense of togetherness and love that we could feel inside the community and thats why Teen Activism Become Climate Front’s Local Chapter
Initially on ground we started by Conducting Cleanups at Peerzadiguda Cheruvu in Hyderabad which later got protected due to our efforts , We started organising global climate strikes , solidarity protests not just in hyd but across Telangana Addressing G.O. 111 Deforestation of Aarey Forest , Raika , Buxwaha , Dumna , Hasdeo , River Fronts in Tawi River Jammu , Mula mutha River Pune , Joshimath , Siang Valley , Ladakh and many more
In 2023 We from Climate Front Telangana gave a National call for joining National Climate Strike against then BRS govt’s Descion to repeal G.O.111 . which was joined by Protests Across the Country , Citizens from 17 Indian cities joined along with one young person protesting from Uganda .
In 2024 Climate Front Hyderabad sent a 5 Members Fact finding team to Damagundam Reserve forest in Vikarabad District of Telangana which was a 2900 Acres Rich Biodiversity hotspot for Telangana , Soon after looking at the urgency and imporatnce of the ecology , we gave call for a national wide protest against inaugration of the project and protest was joined by citizens across india from 14 locations which halted the inauguration . Climate Front Telangana Steered in Forming Save Damagundam Forest Movement and Played a key role in movement . All thought we weren’t able to save Damagundam forest from the destruction but we definitely laid foundation for environmental justice movements in Telangana . Today we are not allowed inside the Damagundam forest at the same place where we spent days walking , researching , drinking water from natural springs , documenting Deers , Peacocks & Insects , At the same place on whose soil we Climate Front Telangana’s Team Members slept and Saw Stars . it Pains us , it hurts us . But we wont forget Damagundam !
In 2024 October while were leading our struggle against deforestation in Damagundam forest , Telangana government was countering us in media and Appealing to us Environmental activists to join governments effort to develop a river front project on Musi river . looking at that in 2024 November , CFT’s 5 Member Team went on a 5 day Documentation trip from Anathagirills – Origin Point of Musi till Wadapally – Krishna River Submergence point of musi after the trip CFT came to an understanding that musi needs a Pollution control mechanism not a River bed Concretisation Project and organised a Press Meet with Young Activists and Experts and announced an Independent Youth Led Peoples Movement ” Save Musi Movement ” – In which Climate Front Telangana is Playing a Active Role along with Fridays For Future and many other groups .
